This is first and foremost a fandom blog; mainly BBC's Merlin, but also Silent Witness, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Scott & Bailey, Harry Potter, Downton Abbey, Community, and Castle. I may be slightly obsessed with Katie McGrath, Angel Coulby, and Emilia Fox. Please note that I am a queer woman and view everything through femslash lenses. I'm also rather critical of the things I love, it doesn't mean I love them any less than the next fan, I just don't tend towards casual consumption.

I'm a person of varied interests and this will definitely show that. At some point I will inevitably talk about queer-ness, polytheism, music, geekiness, religion, politics and science, and there may be different languages. Also, it may, at some points, possibly, be NSFW.

You can’t get much happier than a pig in muck, or so we are told.
But when this little piggy arrived in the farmyard she showed a marked reluctance to get her trotters dirty. While her six brothers and sisters messed around in the mire, she stayed on the edge shaking. It is thought she might have mysophobia - a fear of dirt.
Owners Debbie and Andrew Keeble were at a loss, until they remembered the four miniature wellies used as pen and pencil holders in their office. They slipped them on the piglet’s feet - and into the mud she happily ploughed. [x]

Oh my god you posted something about Imagine Me and You. I have never in my life met any other person who has seen that film. EVER! You can't imagine my feels right now. I LOVE THAT MOVIE!

Really?!?!  It’s probably one of the favorite movies among my friends on tumblr.  One of us will watch it, or find a gif set and we’ll all swoon and flail over it for a while.  Seriously, one of the best lesbian movies ever.  Also, I want to steal all of Luce’s clothing.

Hello! Hope this isn't personal or offensive, but I read your post complaining about Christians tagging things with polytheism, and I just wondered, what is your religion? Are you Hindu? (Cause, the tag about Hinduism...) Hope thats not bad to ask or anything :)

I’m a Gaelic polytheist, which I don’t really talk about much on my blog because I’m kind of in this really personal stage right now with my spirituality and my relationship with my gods.

So no, I don’t practice Sanātana Dharma, though I’ve studied it quite a bit… I’ve read translations of some of the Vedas and epics, I’ve spoken to a number of people with a variety of backgrounds and beliefs that fall under the Hindu umbrella.  I’m hardly any kind of expert, but from my understanding of things all these monotheism vs polytheism debates that Westerners have fall far short of how complex all these religions actually are.  I’ve seen a lot of people trying to use Hindu beliefs to support the supremacy of their own, whether they’re a Western pagan saying “This is what our religions would look like if Christianity had never converted everyone!” to Christians who believe that Yahweh and Brahma are the same deity.  And I just kind of wish that people would stop using these religions to make a point instead of actually seeing them as beliefs in their own right that might be a little outside the Western conception of religion.

I’m not sure if any of this made all that much sense, as it’s 6 am and I’ve not slept yet, but hopefully it did a little bit?  Really though, I don’t have any kind of authority on this subject and was just having a bit of a rant earlier because I’ve seen this kind of thing pop up time and again in discussion of Western religions and had Indian friends get annoyed over it.

And we think we can officially close this issue. We’ve stated our policy and it’s not going to change.
Thank you everyone for understanding.

Wait wait wait, back up.
Can someone please tell me what excuse the behind the scenes (and going to assume ptb) people have made for Angel’s exclusion from the promotion of Merlin? I’d really like to know. I don’t think I’ve ever heard them before.

Yeah, I’ve never once heard them say anything about it.  If there’s ever been an official statement, I’d really like to see it.

I really want to know their rationale and not a PR answer. I wish someone-anyone-would ask them this. Why can’t one of the fantasy sites and/or magazines that interview them ask about it? What about the fans at one of the numerous conventions they go to ask about it?

Hi, I’m [insert name here]. Long time fan. Um, just wondering…why don’t you use Angel in your promotional materials as much as you use Colin, Katie, and Bradley? Is there any particular reason? Thanks!

Amazing how easy that was. I just want someone to answer for it. Really answer it. You know, Angel has to have picked up on this. I don’t…I don’t know what to say. It pisses me off just thinking about it and I’m just a fan. Imagine being in her position. Part of a show, but the show almost backhandedly disrespects you and your character by the 1. storylines 2. amount of screen time 3. lack of use for marketing the show. I want to cry and be angry for her.

#i’m getting too upset by this #cause i’m damn near tears thinking about it #i don’t know how angel puts up with it. #she’s a saint #and her parents named her appropriately
They really, really did.  I can’t even begin to contemplate what it must feel like to be in her position, because I feel like the show wouldn’t hesitate to off Gwen if she made much of a protest.  To be one of the four main characters in a show, to be fucking Queen Guinevere, one of the biggest female characters in Western legend, and be the only person on the main cast to be left off things time and again.  To have considerably less screen time than two secondary male characters.  To have entire episodes where you don’t appear at all!  And I’m pretty sure Angel’s been the least interviewed of the four as well.  It’s fucking insulting.
It’s like it’s become this huge taboo subject that no one feels comfortable bringing up, and it really, really needs to be.  But then, I haven’t been in this fandom for all that long really (about a year now), so perhaps the PTB have said something on it and I just missed it?  Do any of my friends who go to panels regularly know if anyone’s ever brought it up?
I just hope that once this damn show is over, Angel will land tons of huge roles and be able to laugh in everyone’s face about this whole mess.  It’s just really depressing because you can tell from her early interviews that getting to play Gwen was a HUGE deal for her.  And then to be treated like this…
